Cadbury church is open daily 10:00am to 4:00pm
Cadbury Church is in the centre of a rural hamlet whose population is about 100. The building is constructed from local stone and dates from the 15th century – there is a medieval stained glass window and a Norman font – although there have been mid-19th century additions and renovations. During the last 30 years there has been restoration work on the roof, tower and west window. Now we are in the early stages of improving the heating and lighting and creating facilities for hospitality after services.
Our recently-formed choir enjoys singing at special services such as baptisms or festivals. Bell ringing is also popular. Great efforts are being made to raise funds for bell restoration and other improvements.
The church is the spiritual hub and there is a good, positive relationship between it and the community. Lay involvement has increased and with it more shared responsibility and active interest in pastoral care, family orientated services and varied styles of worship . We benefit from and appreciate the support derived from being part of the Netherexe community of churches and feel that this is an exciting time for Cadbury. Currently, we have three services a month including one Holy Communion. Our monthly lay-led services are short, modest and meaningful with a gradual increase in the number of people actively involved.
