Worship Working Group

The Worship Working Group is responsible for worship in our nine churches. In conjunction with the clergy, it arranges the service pattern to minimise duplication and provide a variety of worship opportunities across our parishes every month.

In a grouping of nine churches with only one full time priest, albeit with help from some in other employment and some retired, it is impossible to have services led by a priest in each of our churches every week. Therefore every parish now has to have some services led by lay people. The Worship Working Group helps with identifying suitable people, training and encouraging them. It provides resources for worship leading as documents in this website and as links to other websites.

There are a variety of services on offer in these parishes. Our regular services include a traditional Book of Common Prayer, more contemporary Communion services, less formal all-age worship (with and without Communion) along with Morning and Evening weekday prayers some of which are reflective and contemplative. On a more occasional basis there are Taizé services, Compline, Songs of Praise and others. We hope that there is something there for you, no matter where you find yourself on your spiritual journey.
